4-H Slogan - Learning by doing.

4-H motto - To make the best better.

Non-Profit Involvement

After the initial 4-H contact is made, please review the following:

  • Is at least one person available to attend on October 25, 2014 from 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.?
  • Do you have a portable display that promotes your service?  If not, can you create an attractive display?
  • Are you willing to send out the link to this website to your organization’s contact list through the mail or e-mail and encourage participation?
  • Will you promote this event with posters and handouts that we will provide?
  • Can you supply a logo design which may be used in the event brochure?
  • You may find it beneficial to coordinate with the 4-H club on who will bring table clothes to help create a more polished presentation of your organization.

  • It is our goal to have a 4-H Club “adopt” your service and they will provide helping hands during this event.   It may be beneficial to meet with this club or individuals from the club ahead of time.

  • Each organization will have a section of one of the fair buildings that will be approximately 16 feet  across by 10 feet deep.  Some of the supplies were written as detailed line items of a grant.  It will depend on the hands-on project and your organization to know if supplies will be available through these means.  Otherwise, it is our goal to use purchase the supplies and have the registration fees cover the remaining expenses.

There are many benefits for a non-profit to participate in this event:

  • Central Ohio residents will be coming to the fairgrounds who are community minded
  • Your non-profit will receive all items made at the Hands-on station for your organization
  • 4-H Clubs will be preparing the hands-on items
  • The earlier you commit to participate the more likely it will be that you organization's name will be used in the publicity efforts at Central Ohio schools, community-minded organizations, churches, etc...
  • People who are participating will learn more about what you do and may be able to network with others who may not be aware of your non-profit and the work that it does or the opportunities to help.
  • In 2013, we learned that many non-profits found it valuable to network with the non-profits that they met that day.

4-H Club Involvement

the magnitude of this event...

it has a positive impact

not only on those who help,

but the ripple effect reaches hundreds,

if not thousands.
