4-H Slogan - Learning by doing.

4-H motto - To make the best better.

The Franklin County 4-H Council represents all of the 4-H clubs in Franklin County.  Adult advisors and several teens meet with the purpose of enhancing the efforts of the O.S.U. Franklin County Extension Office - who oversee the 4-H program.

The Franklin County Commisioners are a key partner and funder for O.S.U. Extension.  The Franklin County Extension Office greatly values the working relationship they have with the current 2013 commisioners: John O'Grady, Paula Brooks and Marilyn Brown. http://www.franklincountyohio.gov/Commissioners/

The Central Ohio Walk and Serve-a-palooza is being organized with a number of benefits for the 4-H members at the forefront of the planning efforts.

  • focus on the community needs
  • teambuilding by asking 4-H club members to work together to prepare the supplies
  • leadership skills developed by giving ideas and thinking through logistics
  • public speaking skills by working with the community on event day, explaining how to do the activities
  • to live out the 4-H Pledge, participating in a large scale event
